Privacy Policy

Overview

My Golf Insights ("we", "our", or "the app") is designed with privacy as a default. Your round data is stored on your own device. We collect the minimum information necessary to operate the service and we do not sell your data to anyone.

This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.

Data stored on your device

All golf data — rounds, scores, hole details, courses, preferences — is stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB storage. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it (CSV) or enable cloud sync.

• Round data (scores, stats, notes)
• Course information you enter
• App preferences and settings
• Coaching report history

You can delete this data at any time by clearing the app's site data in your browser settings, or by uninstalling the app.

Data we collect (waitlist & account)

If you join our waitlist or create an account, we collect:

• Email address — to notify you of early access and product updates
• Name (optional) — if you provide it during signup

We do not collect payment information directly. Payments are handled by Stripe, who has their own privacy policy.

Cloud sync (Pro plan)

When cloud sync is enabled, your round data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored on our servers so you can access it across devices. We do not read, analyse, or share this data. You can request a full export or deletion of your cloud data at any time by emailing us.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly analytics (no personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking) to understand how the app is used in aggregate — for example, which features are used most. We do not use Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel.

Cookies

The app does not use tracking cookies. We may use a session cookie to keep you logged into your account. This cookie contains no personal data beyond a session token.

Third-party services

• Netlify — hosting provider. May log your IP address in server access logs per their standard practice.
• Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. We do not store card details.
• Email provider — for transactional and waitlist emails. Your email address is shared with our email provider only.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access all data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Export your round data in CSV format at any time
• Unsubscribe from emails at any time via the unsubscribe link

Children

My Golf Insights is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered users. The date at the top of this page reflects the last update.
